Eastcote Ladies: So near yet so far

Having done so well to reach the finals of two of the Harrow & District competitions, our ladies fought hard but in the end didn't clinch the titles.
THe 2019 H&D Ladies Finals took place at Wealdstone Bowling Club in Byron Park, Wealdstone, on Thursday 22nd August.
In the Ladies Club 4's, our team, comprising Jane Harris, Marilyn Gibbons, Jan Metcalf & Jan Rush, had a shaky start but came back and went into the lead. Unfortunately our supremacy was not to last and we lost by two on the 18th end. Close run thing! The final result was Eastcote 12 - Stanmore 14.
In the Ladies Singles, Anne Sutherland had a hard fought match against another Anne, Anne Middleton of The Mill, but went down 15 -21.
Congratulations to the winners, but well done to our ladies for getting to the finals ands putting up such stiff resistance.
Next year, who knows......
