Hot Harrison, Gorgeous Godfrey

May 2018 gave us two hot and sunny Bank Holiday Mondays, and two enjoyable trophy competitions - the George Harrison Trophy on the 7th and the Godfrey Memorial on the 28th.
Thanks to Diane Hallam's brilliant organisation, both tournaments ran smoothly and finished with food provided by the Social Committee.
The George Harrison Trophy is a 3-ball team of three competition, with each end scoring 3 points for nearest the jack, 2 points for second and 1 for third. It starts with a mini-league between red and green teams and ends with a play-off final betwen the best 2 teams.Click here for more pictures of the George Harrison day,
The Trophy winners, by 22-6, were John Nott (Skip), David Levy (Second) and Karen Peirce (Lead)
Harrison Runners up: Geoff Smith (Skip), Tom Foreman (Second)
and Gaye Armstrong (Lead)
The Godfrey Memorial tournament is a 2-ball individual knockout competition, where the winners of the first round continue to compete for the Trophy, and the losers compete for the Plate. In a closr run Final, Geoff Millman beat Len Rush 6-5, and for the Plate, Norman Burwell beat Jan Rush 7-4. Click here for more pictures of the Godfrey Memorial day,
