Winter Events 2021/2022 (updated 11/10/21)

As we said previously, more events will be added, and they have! For the past two years your diaries have never been so full!  There may be more events than listed below but until details are known please make a note in your diaries of the following:

Working Parties: There are various jobs that will need doing during the winter months which will require the help of many. Watch this space for your invitation!.

Short Mat Bowls: £2.00 per session. Sessions commence on Monday 4th October 2021 (at 2.00pm) and Thursday 7th October 2021 (at 6.00pm) then every Monday and Thursday at the same times.

Crib: Will commence on Wednesday 6th October 2021 (at 2.00pm) then Tuesday 19th October 2021 (at 7.00pm), then as the table below. If you have never played but would like to try just arrive. If you have a friend who would like to play send them along. Cost £2.00 per session with a tea and biscuit included. If you have been locked away for 18 months and would like a cup of tea and a biscuit but would prefer not to play, just turn up and be social!

Indoor Bowling Fixtures: The sheets are on the board for matches on

Support your club and put your names down before the end of the season - it makes the captain’s difficult life easier!

Presentation Evening: The presentation evening will be on Saturday 13th November 2021. Details (as emailed earlier) are on the Geoff Millman Cabin lobby Noticeboard and on the website ( see ‘News’). Cost £30 – The deadline is passed, but you could always ask (speak to Diane or Mark Hallam).

Dominos: All of you on WhatsApp (EBC branch) will already know that Dominos will commence on Wednesday 20th October at 2.00 and continue every Wednesday except the Wednesday that crib is scheduled (see above).

Christmas Party: Again the WhatsApp group will already be aware of the Christmas Party on Saturday 11th December. Further details to follow.

Race Night: Saturday 15th January.  10 races and food. Further details to follow. Paul Hutch is the stable boy and bookmaker. He is probably the owner of all the horses as well!

Coffee Mornings: Wednesdays. 27th October; 8th December; 12th January; 9th February; 9th March. Come and swap your tales of joy – such as having a full tank of fuel, buying an electric car to avoid the queues, or even volunteering to be an HGV driver for the day to assist the country!

 Ploughmans: 13th April.12.30 for 1.00pm. Get ready for the commencement of the 2022 season with a delicious and nourishing ploughmans. At £8, a bargain!
