Just because we can't be on the Green doesn't mean that Club life stops! Plenty to do (see below), with the promise of additional social events as well, so look out for alerts.

2024/25 WINTER EVENTS AT EASTCOTE BOWLING CLUB

Dates subject to alteration at short notice and additional events/info will be circulated once known.

Working Parties: There will be many throughout the winter. Dates to be advised and scope of work to be listed. First one on Saturday, 12th October 2024, 10am to 2pm.

Short Mat Bowls: Will commence on Thursday 3rd October 2024 at 2.00pm and then every Monday and Thursday at the same time, probably through to Thursday, 17th April 2025 (final date to be confirmed). £2.00 per session. The equipment requires setting up before 3rd October 2024 so propose Monday 30th September 2024 – volunteers, please contact Danny Mac.

Crib: The dates shown in the list below. If you have never played but would like to try, just arrive. If you have a friend who would like to play, send them along. Cost £2.00 per session with a tea and biscuit included.

Film Nights,  Christmas Party, Race Night: Dates and details will be circulated as and when confirmed.

Quiz Night Saturday 19th October 2024: Get your names down and come and show your knowledge “or how much you have forgotten”. Be at the Club 6.30 for 7.00pm and it would be lovely to see as many of you there as possible. The £10.00 cost includes food (jacket potatoes) and the prize money. Dave Levy will again be the quizmaster! Maximum number of 6 people per table. There is a list in the Geoff Millman Cabin - please add your names asap and indicate your choice of potato filling(s).

Bingo: Usually on a Friday evening, date to be advised. Come and meet the two little ducks, get doctors’ orders, and a bowlful of Heinz 57 at the top of the shop!

Presentation Evening   Saturday 23rd November 2024: Full details and sign-up sheet including menu choices in the Edwards Pavilion. Cost is £37 per person - please sign up and pay up by 19th October. Even if you were not a winner come to congratulate those who were, and have what is always a very enjoyable evening - lovely food, and music by Colin Darnell.

Coffee Mornings: All on a Wednesday at 10.00am. Dates for your diary are

Pre-season Ploughman’s Lunch: At the Clubhouse on Wednesday 9th April 2025, 12.30 for 1.00pm. Get ready for the commencement of the 2025 season with a delicious ploughmen’s. Meet fellow bowlers you may not have seen since September 2024!

Indoor Fixture: Saturday15th March 2025 at Herga - the sheets are on the board in the Geoff Millman Cabin. Support your club and put your names down asap, preferably before the end of this season, it makes the captain’s difficult life easier!
