C&T Triples Quarter-final victory!

On an overcast Monday evening in August, Gill Murray, Geoff Gould and Colin Williams arrived at Fassnidge to play a Quarter-final match in the Chiltern and Thames Triples.
After dropping a five at the seventh end, the Eastcote triple found themselves 12- 3 behind.
The floodlights were turned on about this time and our woods seemed attracted to the jack as we picked up shots to level the game at the final end. In the extra end, Gill and Geoff put us in a great position holding 4 shots, before Alan, the Fassnidge skip, bowling with size six woods which looked beach ball size as they arrived at the head, destroyed our holding leaving Colin to bowl the last wood with Eastcote two down. Fortunately Colin had left his best wood of the season for this moment and Eastcote won by two.
Having a drink after the game Gill was informed that we would now be in the Semi- final. To which she replied “If you had told me this was a competition beforehand I would have been very nervous.”
